Being included in this list means that the company will not provide any kind of support to this product. Now neither any hardware will be available for iPhone 6 Plus nor any software will be available for it.
Apart from adding iPhone 6 Plus to the obsolete list, Apple has also added iPad Mini 4 to the vintage list. In simple words, if any user has these two phones, it will be difficult to get their parts if they get damaged. However, vintage is the stage before becoming obsolete. Therefore, users will be able to get software and hardware updates for iPad Mini now.
What is the difference between obsolete and vintage?
Apple does not take any further responsibility for the products that it adds to its Obsolete List or Vintage List. The life span of these products is ended. If these devices accidentally get damaged, users will not be able to get the phone repaired at Apple’s service center.
Products are considered vintage when the company stopped selling them more than 5 years ago and less than 7 years ago. Apart from this, it is considered obsolete when the company stops selling the phone more than 7 years ago.
